You will need runes from the rune trader to get more than 13 specced into any single attribute.
Minor runes give +1 to an attribute Major runes give +2 to an attribute but take away 35hp Superior runes give +3 to an attribute but take away 75hp It is widely accepted that in most cases minor runes are your best option as the health loss from major and especially superior runes makes a significant difference to your ability to survive. You can also gain temporary boosts to attributes with consumable items like golden eggs and candy corn, but your best option at the moment is definately runes. |

Armor, specifically the headpiece and runes. Remember, only one rune per attribute, so 16 maximum.

In addition to headpiece, runes and consumables, additional methods of raising attributes are some skills like [Glyph of Elemental Power] (temporary +2 to elemental attributes), Mastery modifiers to equipment (20% chance of +1 to attribute) and certain blessings (location dependent). The highest permanent attribute level is 16 and any builds that go beyond that are rather gimmicky.

keep in mind that anything beyond minor runes are considered useless because a loss of 75 health reduce your chance of surviving a lot and +2 to any attribute rarely make a difference.

Without the use of skills, you can achieve a total of 16 points in any attribute of your profession. If you wish to get above 13, you would need a headgear of the attribute type (for example of Scythe Mastery). From there, you would need to apply runes to increase it. Remember that runes are non-stacking (except for some exceptions such as Vitae). Runes come in three types: Minor (+1 to attribute), Major (+2 to attribute), and Superior (+3 to attribute). However, Major and Superior runes come with a penalty of -35HP and -75HP, respectively.

I usually go with 14 in that attribute (armor/headgear with a +1 of attribute and a minor rune on it).... I only go higher than that if I'm absolutely sure that the 15 or 16 makes a significant difference with a particular build or skill set. Sometimes it's worth it, but for the majority of people and the majority of time it is not worth it to go above 14. You can use wiki, to see how the damage is increased etc. for every level of a skill... usually the difference between 14 and 16 is negligible.

Conventional thinking isn't always correct. You can use a major or superior fire rune in a headpiece, and add health to your bar in other ways. |

It's PvE Normal Mode, using the -75 hp superior runes is perfectly legit. Stop bringing your hardcore PvP or Hard Mode play styles into this.
But only use one, the -150 hp off of two sup runes can be pretty brutal. |

Just to sum things up for you:
Headpeace +1 Runes (+1/+2/+3) Weapon (+1 Staff/Focus/Shield) Sweets (+1 Candy Corn/Golden Egg) Cons (Grail of Might) Im not totaly sure if all these things together stack, but if so, you could get 12 + 8 bonus, makes a total of 20. Would be nice ^^ |

A superior rune can sometimes be useful. However, the hit point loss is costly, especially if you have high death penalty.

A agree with this, even in PvP. In pressure builds, the extra axe mastery can really boost your damage, while you dont lose out on much in return, I can still get my war to 570hp with a sup axe rune, thats not bad considering casters dont have much more in their 40/40 sets, and a wars got 80al.
